HOW DOES REIKI WORK
​
An unseen life-force flows through you, me, everyone and everything.
When this is free-flowing, you feel calm, creative, healthy and resilient - you feel truly alive!
When this flow gets disrupted, it affects you physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
​
Every time you experience a stressful situation that you are not able to fully process or heal at the time, this causes stagnant energy to build up, creating blockages that slow down the flow of this life-force energy.
These blockages affect us in different, and sometimes unexpected ways.
They could manifest as digestive issues, physical aches and pains, or fatigue. They could leave you feeling anxious; lacking clarity and focus; or on the deepest level, feeling misaligned with the core of who you really are.
Reiki helps to clear stagnant energy that has built up around and within the body, bringing you back to a state of balance.
Coming back to balance can feel like a fog has cleared, or a heavy weight has lifted.
It is not unusual for people’s facial expressions to look softer; their skin to appear smoother; and their eyes to look brighter.

After receiving Reiki, people often report feeling a deep sense of clarity, calm and inner peace.

When you feel balanced, you function better, and when you feel better it becomes so much easier to process stress in a healthier, more productive way, and bounce back from whatever challenges life may throw your way.
HEALING HANDS
Reiki involves the simple act of a practitioner laying their hands either on, or above your body, and allowing Reiki energy to flow through them to areas in need of re-balancing.

Reiki is just as effective when given in-person as it is when given remotely, by distance.

WHAT DOES REIKI FEEL LIKE?
While receiving Reiki you may experience moments of insight, memory flashbacks, feelings of warmth and tingling, or a blissful state of dream-like relaxation.

SAFE & COMPLIMENTARY
Reiki is a complementary therapy that can safely be used alongside medical treatment. This gentle technique is suitable for all ages and any state of health, from a newborn baby to the frail and elderly, pregnant mothers and surgical patients. Unlike most other forms of hands-on therapy, there are virtually no cautions or contraindications to treatment.

YOU DON'T NEED TO BELIEVE!

It is not necessary to believe in Reiki for it to work - once you experience its effects, I guarantee you won’t need any convincing!
HEALING MEANS TO BE WHOLE
Our bodies are made up of four layers: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
When we separate these layers or emphasise one more than the other, we feel unbalanced, constantly yearning for that missing piece. Through Reiki, we re-balance and connect all of these layers.

PHYSICAL
Your body is designed to self-heal, but for it to do this effectively you need to give it what it needs.
Reiki essentially creates the perfect environment that stimulates your body's natural self-healing mechanisms. When these are functioning effectively, you can experience the following benefits:

Although Reiki is not a substitute for sleep, the restorative benefits of 1 hour of Reiki can be equivalent to 4 hours of sleep!

BENEFITS OF REIKI
MENTAL
​
During a Reiki session your body will drop into a deep state of rest and relaxation. When your physical nervous system relaxes, feelings of stress, anxiety and overwhelm naturally start to subside.
Your mind will start to feel clearer and calmer, making it easier to stay focused on daily tasks and make decisions with greater ease.
This can also help to reduce symptoms of depression, leaving you feeling energised, uplifted, lighter and brighter.
EMOTIONAL

Because your energy-body operates on a subconscious level, Reiki provides you with the energetic dynamic that allows you to access the subconscious psyche where your unprocessed emotions are stored.
​
Reiki has the ability to seek out and heal these unprocessed emotions, sometimes without the need to even know what was healed!

When you rewire your neural pathways like this, it can profoundly shift the way you think, feel and function in the world.

You may not notice the effects at first - until you find yourself in a situation you would normally feel triggered by, and you simply find yourself feeling and reacting differently.
SPIRITUAL

During a Reiki session your brain will usually drop into the Delta brainwave state. This can resemble what it feels like to be on the verge of being awake and asleep. The conscious experience of this can feel blissfully meditative, uniquely surreal and incredibly heart-opening.

When the brain is in this state, you will become more open to receive insights and better able to gain clarity around situations you may be struggling to consciously understand or make decisions about. Subtle synchronicities may start to appear and you will feel better equipped to embrace opportunities as they arise.
Sometimes Reiki can initiate profound instantaneous healing, but often the effects are more gradual and subtle. These changes can lead to transformative mindset shifts, a greater sense of connection, self-acceptance and inner peace.
